Health Support Services is designed to develop essential skills in learning, reading, writing, speaking, listening, and numeracy using content relevant to the health sector. This course is ideal for learners at Level 1 of the Australian Core Skills Framework.

Target Audience
Learners aiming to enhance their foundational skills within the health sector, specifically designed for those operating at Level 1 of the Australian Core Skills Framework.

Disability Support

The module focuses on literacy and language for work. The coursework will be contextualised for the care and support services industry. Topics include: Overview of care and support including the various roles and opportunities available in this industry. Legislative and ethical considerations in care work. Safe work practices. Concepts such as person-centered care, social inclusion, respect, and empowerment. Communication skills and skills to work effectively with others.

Practical skills awareness through guest speakers where possible. Pathways to further training and/or employment include entry-level support work and a Certificate III in Individual Support

Aged Care

Literacy & Numeracy for Aged Care Level 2 is designed to support learners in developing vocationally contextualized foundational skills through practical and applied learning activities.
