Cert II in Salon Assistant student

1. Why did you enrol in Cert II in Hair Salon Assistant?
   I enrolled in the Cert II because of my interest in all things hair, I thought it would be good to learn about whilst not being in school, and it helped me open my mind to a lot of other opportunities.
2. How did you find out about this course at BCAL?
   I found out about the course through a few of my friends that completed it a couple years ago, they really liked it and thought it was great, so I thought I might try it out one day.
3. What have you enjoyed most about the class?
   I’d have to say what I enjoyed the most of that course was the fun and judgemental free environment that Cathy, the other students and the rest of BCAL have made for us, it was always a fun day there, if I was having a bad day I would always end up with a smile on my face at the end of the day whilst also learning new things everyday I was there.
4. What are your plans for next year – will you continue with learning more about Hair and Beauty?
   My plans for next year are to just take it as it goes, I’m planning on doing the SEE alternative schooling program and if I can work around those days to also do the Cert III for hairdressing as well that would be great, I’m really keen to learn cutting techniques and skills in the Cert III, hoping that I can do it next year.

1. Why did you enrol in Cert III in Horticulture?
   I was encouraged to enrol in accredited training by my mentor at JobFind.
2. How did you find out about this course at BCAL?
   I found out about the course as it was local to where I live.
3. What have you enjoyed most about the class?
   Learning new skills that I didn’t think was possible. Also completing my practical placement with a local landscaper.
4. What are your plans for next year?
   I hope to be working as a Landscape Gardener on Phillip Island.
