Overview
Start your journey into a rewarding career supporting older people—no nursing qualifications needed.
There’s a growing demand for workers in aged care—not just in nursing roles, but in areas like food service, cleaning, administration, groundskeeping, and general support. If you’re interested in making a difference in the lives of older people but don’t have formal training, this course is a great place to start.
BCAL’s Aged Care Support Services course gives you an introduction to the different kinds of non-clinical roles available in aged care homes and facilities. You’ll learn about workplace expectations, safe work practices, and how to communicate effectively in a care setting.
This course is designed for learners working at Level 1 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). It’s ideal for adults who are re-entering the workforce, changing careers, or building the confidence to begin further training such as Certificate III in Individual Support.
