Asthma & Anaphylaxis First Aid – Be Confident in a Crisis

Essential accredited training for anyone caring for children or adults at risk of asthma or anaphylaxis.

This course is ideal for educators, carers, support workers, and anyone working or volunteering with people at risk of asthma or anaphylaxis. Whether you’re in a school, childcare centre, community organisation or family home, being equipped to respond quickly and effectively can save lives.

Delivered at BCAL by knowledgeable, experienced trainers, this short course provides nationally accredited first aid training in the management of both asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies.

Through hands-on demonstrations, real-life scenarios, and accessible teaching, participants will learn how to respond confidently and competently during a medical emergency.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to recognise the signs, symptoms and triggers of asthma and anaphylaxis

  • How to follow an action plan in an emergency

  • How to correctly use inhalers and spacers for asthma

  • How to administer adrenaline auto-injectors (e.g., EpiPens)

  • Strategies for managing ongoing risk in the workplace or community settings

Accredited Units Included:

  • 22578VIC – Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
