The Job Readiness module at Bass Coast Adult Learning (BCAL) is designed for learners who are preparing to enter the workforce and want to feel confident and capable throughout the job-seeking process. Whether you’re applying for your first role or returning to work, this comprehensive 80-hour program will give you practical skills and real-world strategies for success.

Over four structured topics, you’ll gain the tools to write compelling resumes and cover letters, prepare for interviews, and learn how to start and maintain work in any industry. You’ll also develop strong workplace communication skills, time management techniques, and a better understanding of what employers expect.

Course Topics:

• Resumes – Learn to write tailored, industry-appropriate resumes that highlight your strengths.

• Cover Letters – Create clear and confident letters that complement your applications.

• Interviews – Practise answering questions, presenting yourself professionally, and managing nerves.

• Starting & Keeping Work – Explore workplace communication, accountability, and strategies for ongoing success.

Embedded Skills:

This course supports learners at Level 2 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). Language, literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy (LLNED) skills are integrated throughout the module using learner workbooks and a portfolio to track progress and growth.
