Moving On is the second of two companion courses at Bass Coast Adult Learning (BCAL) designed to help adult learners prepare for their next step—whether that’s entering the workforce or continuing their education. Building on the foundations of the Employable Me course, Moving On focuses on accessing job opportunities and understanding further study pathways. Delivered in BCAL’s inclusive, welcoming environment with small class sizes and individual support, Moving On provides learners with practical tools, career insight, and the confidence to consider their next steps. This 30-hour course is designed for adult learners working at Level 2 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). It supports learners in identifying their strengths, preparing to study at TAFE, and understanding what today’s job market looks like. Whether you’re applying for your first role or returning to work, this comprehensive 80-hour program will give you practical skills and real-world strategies for success. Over four structured topics, you’ll gain the tools to write compelling resumes and cover letters, prepare for interviews, and learn how to start and maintain work in any industry. You’ll also develop strong workplace communication skills, time management techniques, and a better understanding of what employers expect. Course Topics: Resumes – Learn to write tailored, industry-appropriate resumes that highlight your strengths. Cover Letters – Create clear and confident letters that complement your applications. Interviews – Practise answering questions, presenting yourself professionally, and managing nerves. Starting & Keeping Work – Explore workplace communication, accountability, and strategies for ongoing success.
