    Disability Support

    The module focuses on literacy and language for work. The coursework will be contextualised for the care and support services industry. Topics Overview of care and support including the various roles and opportunities available in this industry. Legislative and ethical considerations in care work. Safe work practices. Concepts such as person-centered care, social inclusion, respect, and empowerment. Communication skills and skills to work effectively with others. Practical skills awareness through guest speakers where possible. Pathways to further training and/or employment include entry-level support work and a Certificate III in Individual Support
