First Aid for Teachers & Carers includes everything from a standard Level 2 First Aid course, with added focus on managing asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies. It meets the legal first aid requirements for staff in education and care settings and provides participants with the nationally recognised unit: HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting Delivered in small, supportive groups at Bass Coast Adult Learning (BCAL), this course equips you with the confidence and practical skills to handle a wide range of first aid situations—from cuts and sprains to severe allergic reactions and asthma attacks. What You’ll Learn: How to respond to common childhood injuries and emergencies CPR for infants, children, and adults Asthma and anaphylaxis recognition, response and management How to use inhalers, spacers, and auto-injectors (e.g., EpiPens) First aid for burns, wounds, choking, fractures, and more How to communicate with emergency services and record incidents appropriately Why Study at BCAL?
